A personal hand-drawn animation created at the transition from 2020 to 2021. This project served as both a technical exploration of frame-by-frame illustration and a creative outlet to express hope and forward momentum after a globally challenging year.
Created entirely in Procreate, this project allowed me to focus on the fundamental principles of animation. Every frame was drawn by hand, focusing on the weight and timing of the gestures to ensure they felt natural and emotive.
Technique Exploration: I used this project to master the “onion skinning” and “time-lapse” workflows within Procreate, bridging the gap between traditional illustration and modern digital motion.
Symbolic Storytelling: The “hands” serve as a universal symbol of both struggle and the ability to build something new. By focusing on the interaction of the hands, the piece tells a silent story of reaching for a brighter future.
