With the Chicago Bears elevating the “Bear Head” logo as their primary visual identity, every 3D broadcast asset within the NBC Sports ecosystem needed to be updated. The challenge was to transform the flat, 2D vector graphic into a premium 3D asset that maintained the fierce, iconic character of the brand while integrating seamlessly into existing high-end broadcast templates.

3D Reconstruction: Built the new logo from the ground up in Cinema 4D, using the official vector files as a precise structural guide to ensure accuracy.
Look Development: Developed custom materials and lighting within Cinema 4D to achieve a cinematic, “Sunday Night Football” aesthetic. The goal was to give the logo weight and texture that felt consistent with the league’s premier broadcast standards.
Platform Integration: Optimized the final 3D model for deployment across various broadcast packages, ensuring the updated primary logo functioned perfectly within the dynamic environments of live sports television.
A new direction
The updated 3D “Bear Head” successfully replaced the traditional wishbone “C” as the primary identifier for the Chicago Bears across all NBC Sports coverage. The result provided a modernized, impactful visual that aligned with the team’s new branding direction and the high-production value of the NFL’s flagship broadcast.
