This project was a fun mix of traditional art processes and generative AI.
I created the logo type treatment Photoshop and Illustrator, then brought it into Cinema 4D to add dimension.
The design for the face of the cards and the Sean McVay head cutout was generated in Midjourney using a custom prompt and a hand sketched reference image.
My design philosophy for this project centered on the ‘Adaptive Canvas.’ Knowing that this banner needs to perform across vastly different aspect ratios, I focused on a modular, center-weighted composition. The inspiration was to strip away the clutter of traditional ‘collage’ banners in favor of a bold, iconic focal point that maintains its visual integrity from mobile to 4K displays.
The end product is a seamless extension of the YouTube ecosystem. The minimalist approach results in a sleek, ‘platform-fluent’ aesthetic that doesn’t compete with video thumbnails or channel UI. Instead, it provides a polished, professional wrapper that elevates the channel from a simple content hub to a world-class resource for creators.
